Homeschool Memoirs Week 6

***This week I want to invite you to take a moment and post a Summer Photo Essay memoir. Starting from around the official date of Summer to this past week - just give a basic summary of your summer as I know someone of you are photoholics! Haha! Make sure you jot down your memoirs about each photo so everyone can read about your summer. ***

Here are some highlights of our summer:

We love feeding the ducks

Fun at the playground

We spent a week up in the mountains of Southern Utah. This is Cedar Breaks....just gorgeous!
Fishing

The guys spent a couple of days building a clubhouse/swingset.

4-wheelin'

Many, many hiking trips.

The newest member of our family arrived this summer. Her name is Maggie. She is soooo sweet!

Homeschool Memoirs Week 4

This weeks theme is :
something new you’re using, why you’ve decided to use it, and if you have used it how you like it.

We decided to splurge and get the materials from Institute for Excellence in Writing. I purchased the SWI A & C as well as the Theme-Based Ancient History materials. I can not tell you how excited I am about this! I had heard so many raving reviews but wondered if it was worth the expense. We are working on week 3 and I can definately see benefits.

Another new curriculum for us this year is Artistic Pursuits
My boys love art and this combines art appreciation with hand on techniques. I love that it came with a kit that had all the supplies we needed for the course. Very easy to implement. We are using K-3 Book 1 and it goes perfectly with our study of world history.

So far all the curriculum/schedules for this year are working out beautifully! That is something I am truly thankful for!
