This weeks theme is : something new you’re using, why you’ve decided to use it, and if you have used it how you like it.We decided to splurge and get the materials from Institute for Excellence in Writing. I purchased the SWI A & C as well as the Theme-Based Ancient History materials. I can not tell you how excited I am about this! I had heard so many raving reviews but wondered if it was worth the expense. We are working on week 3 and I can definately see benefits.
Another new curriculum for us this year is Artistic Pursuits
My boys love art and this combines art appreciation with hand on techniques. I love that it came with a kit that had all the supplies we needed for the course. Very easy to implement. We are using K-3 Book 1 and it goes perfectly with our study of world history.
So far all the curriculum/schedules for this year are working out beautifully! That is something I am truly thankful for!

I just ordered the IEW and I'm very excited about. I hope my kids share my enthusiasm.
